I was so angry at the scenes with Ryan and Zach yesterday, that it overshadowed everything else on the show. Today, I have a mixed bag of feelings.

Greenlee and Kendall had a confrontation. I thought Kednall did well in telling off Greenlee. I believe that was a scene that needed to happen. Greenlee played the crying, sorry sack of slime very well. It nearly broke my heart when Kendall was pointing out all the toys that Spike could no longer hear because of  Greenlee's actions.

Ryan walked in on Kendall and Greenlee in Spike's room. I noticed Ryan had nothing to really say. He saw she was alive, and doing ok. I guess Zach didn't do anything monstrous to her like he assumed. And that is "assumed" with a giant ASS. Somehow I doubt we'll be hearing an apology from Ryan for overreacting and crawling up Zach's butt yesterday. Because as usual.....true to Ryan style.....he thought he was right. (Just speculating here.)

A moment of praise for Annie's scenes with her father. I don't recall the name of the actor playing her father, but I thought that his scenes were spectacular. I really enjoyed them. And Annie was worth watching for the first time, I felt. Finally, they make her interesting.I wish they would keep him around. I think he would add a lot to the show. When Annie is away from Ryan, she shines.

Now....the scene that got under my skin today was the whole Babe and Di conversation. Babe really pissed me off. I wanted someone to bitch slap her. Babe and Annie are not close friends. They are co-workers. And if they have suddenly become best gal pals, they have not addressed it onscreen. So for her to butt into Annie's business like that, It made me mad. I am already not a fan of Babe...why make her even more annoying? Di asked her nicely to drop the subject. If Annie wanted her business known, she would have told everybody where she was going and what she was doing. She especially would have told Ryan, her husband. But obviously she only trusts Di. So Babe......mind your own business....back off...butt out...and please heiffer...just do your damn work. And Di...you are usually much more assertive than that. Babe has no right to anybody else's secrets, so tell her to "F" off.

 Oh Ryan, somewhere out there, there is a steep cliff, and ravine calling your name. Today, he was unbearable. I hated his whole scene with Zach. The writers really made him look like supreme giant asshat today. First, he launches an accuatory attack about Greenlee on him. When Greenlee should be the furthest from his mind. Spike is permanently deaf because of that mentally warped leech. Of course, Zach sees right through Ryan. He does the "what would you like me to say?" route and basically tells him to  assume whatever he wants because he is doing so anyway.  And when Ryan doesn't like that answer, he launches an all out, below the belt, go for the jugular confrontation and lashes out. Playing the blame game, and saying that It is Zach's fgault for the way Greenlee is....and that also it is Zach's fault that his father is a serial killer. If that holds any water, than that means that it is Ryan's fault that his own father used to beat up his mom, and brother and sister. It is also Ryan's fault that Braden raped women, and Jonathan killed people, and brutalized women. So Ryan was more than out of line. Zach should have punched him out of the hospital. And of course, why was Ryan so concerned????? And if he really was so concerned...all he had to do was check HISSON's room. She has been slithering around there numerous times even after she has been warned to stay away over and over again. She was in there. Or why didn't he go seek out Greenlee himself and ask her??????? Why go up Zach's ass?

 

And it concerns me also....this is not the first time Emma has awakened, or walked into Ryan having heated arguments, yelling, or seeing Ryan with someone in an angry chokehold. And he always has some excuse....oh well, its just a difference of an opinion..................Oh really Ryan...is that all?????

 

And Greenlee......STFU and stay the hell away from Kendall and Spike. Go get sober for gods sake.

Maybe I am biased when it comes to Erica Kane, and Susan Lucci. I happen to love the actress, and the character. I know she has many flaws, some of which I don't even consider flaws, but simply personal character traits. She is known for her diva-like personality. Some say she is purely selfish and self absorbed. That she thinks everything is all about her. Some criticize her for not acting her age.

Some also criticize her for for being a grandmother, but does not get called that title. Nobody knows the real reason behind this, but I also don't see this as such a big deal. It is a personal preference, just a name. My own mother prefers to be called Nana. What matters is how she treats the grandchildren. And how she loves them. I feel it is petty  and judgemental to think that just because  a person wants something other than the general society picked title, that they should be criticized for it. It is offensive on a personal level because Erica Kane is a soap opera character, but there are real people who choose to not be called Grandma in this world and that includes people in my family. Not only that, nobody knows what Erica will be called. Miranda, we never see, so I don't know what she calls her. But her grandsons don't talk yet. Spike just celebrated his first birthday, and Ian wasn't even supposed to be born yet.

Some just refuse to see anything positive about her. It gets frustrating. Especially when I do not see the things the way they do. She gets called a hypocritical, skanky, old whore. She gets called crazy, and sick. Its a little extreme. Some say she is a terrible mother, and grandmother, but I haven't seen anything that proves that theory. She hasn't always made the best decisions regarding her children, but she tries. She has their best interests at heart.She doesn't cover their mistakes, or serve their punishments for them. She calls them on their mistakes, and still loves them. She is a character that has been on the show since what, the beginning. And has had her fair share of her mistakes. Which to this day are held over her head. Its not like I expect everyone to like her. Really, I can see why someone with Erica's personality might dislike her intensely. But even when she is doing nothing wrong, the insults about her are flung from all angles. I haven't always agreed with the things she says, or the things that she does, but I don't see where she is a skanky old, crazy, sick, whore. And when she has shown only love, support, and concern for her children and grandchildren, I don't see where she is being terrible. Those are just a few thoughts I have about it. Its only my opinion. I just don't see what is so bad about her. Especially now when her family is in turmoil.

 

But I also get it. People are free to love or hate characters. I can finally see the other side of things when it comes to Erica Kane. At least I feel now how it must feel for Babe Carey fans. She has her supporters. Which I think is good. I persoanlly am not a Carey supporter, but I can appreciate the other side now. I realize how difficult it must be to constantly defend. My feelings on Babe are for another rant, and another day though.

 

SoapCentral is still the best place I have found yet. And  the people are intelligent, and fun to post with. A little debate is good sometimes. There are quite a few whose opinions I always find myself admiring. Even if it is an opposing side. These are good people.
